In the gentle spirit of Eid al-Adha, BTID joined the Muslim community of Kampung Bugis in a day filled with more than just tradition. The day was full of solidarity, care, and connection beyond faith or background. At Masjid As-Syuhada, one of Bali’s oldest mosques, the atmosphere was full of warmth. Muslim and Hindu neighbours stood shoulder to shoulder, preparing and distributing 27 sacrificial animals (5 cows and 22 goats) to families in need. It was not loud or ceremonial, but it was deeply meaningful.
Moments like these remind us that real harmony is built in small acts of kindness. This celebration was not only about ritual. It was a shared expression of humanity, where compassion brought people together and respect carried the day.

Denpasar, VIVA Bali – The celebration of Eid al-Adha is a meaningful moment for Muslims to share joy through the distribution of qurban (sacrificial) meat to those in need. This year, PT Bali Turtle Island Development (BTID) donated livestock for qurban to the residents of Kampung Bugis, Serangan Village, Denpasar, Bali on Friday, June 6, 2025.
The 1446 H Eid al-Adha celebration in Kampung Bugis reflected a strong spirit of tolerance and togetherness amid diversity, said BTID’s Head of Communications, Zakki Hakim, on Saturday, June 7, 2025.
The livestock was handed over by BTID representatives to the committee at As-Syuhada Mosque. The meat was then distributed to Kampung Bugis residents and nearby communities, especially those in need.
“For the past few years, we’ve consistently donated qurban animals to one of the oldest mosques in Bali, Masjid As-Syuhada,” said Zakki.
He hopes the contribution adds joy to the local community in Kampung Bugis.
“This is part of our commitment and care for the surrounding community, who have long been an essential part of the development area,” he added.
Zakki also expressed hope that this act would strengthen ties and collaboration between communities.
“This initiative is part of BTID’s sustainability vision—to build the Kura Kura Bali Special Economic Zone in an inclusive, harmonious, and sustainable way, in line with the spirit of Islam Rahmatan lil’ Alamin, which promotes compassion and benefit for all,” he said.
Muhammad Usman, a community leader from Kampung Bugis, expressed his gratitude for this shared moment.
“Alhamdulillah, this year we have a total of 27 sacrificial animals: 5 cows and 22 goats. Today’s event was joyful and supported by many parties in and around Serangan,” Usman said.
In this predominantly Hindu area known for its high tolerance, Muslims in Kampung Bugis are able to carry out the qurban tradition smoothly.
“Bali is known for its religious tolerance. Today, Hindu residents also joined in and helped with the qurban preparations, as they have for many years,” said Arzam Andi Muhammad, a representative from the youth group of As-Syuhada Mosque.
