Kura Kura Bali, through the United In Diversity Foundation, rallies behind BASAbali, Bali’s leading custodian of local native languages, in introducing the Environmental Initiatives Shelf at BASAbali’s Wiki virtual library (https://dictionary.basabali.org/Library).
BASAbali is a collaboration of scholars, governments, artists, and community members from within and outside of Bali that encourages people to value local languages and to take action to strengthen them alongside of national and international tongues.
BASAbali primary vehicle is a multimedia Balinese-English-Indonesian wiki dictionary and encyclopedia which it uses to engage the public, to revitalize local languages in the modern digital world, and to create free digital language resources.
We are proud that BASAbali Wiki, a Balinese-English-Indonesian dictionary, was one of the five initiatives from around the world to receive the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) International Literacy Prizes for its contribution to literacy and multilingualism.
